People don’t often think about leaving a review. Even if you provide great customer service, chances are that you have to remind them. Be sure to ask for reviews. A friendly reminder without any incentive (for legality) is never a bad idea.

Here are three ways you can ask for reviews in the storage industry:

In Person

After any good interaction in person, ask them to put a review on one of your preferred sites (Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc.). Asking in person is often the most effective way to get more reviews since your customers are more likely to remember.

Flyers at Your Facility

Since you can’t always ask in-person, having flyers and posters up at your facility is another effective method. Along with a QR code, your flyers should have these main elements:

1. An ask. Tell customers what you’d like to hear from them.
2. A location. Let customers know where you want them to leave reviews.
   1. Rotate your flyers and ask for reviews on different sites such as Google, Facebook, Yelp, and other directories.
   2. Create a landing page where people can click on each place to write their reviews.
3. A thank you response.

In Follow-Up Emails and Surveys

Once a customer moves in, you should always follow up with a thank-you email. In the email, be sure to also add a survey, asking about their experience and what could be improved. To end the email, send them to your review landing page and ask them to leave a review.
